

Aloha Community
Aloha is an unincorporated community on the east shore of Mullett Lake, about 8 miles south of Cheboygan. The settlement formed around the James B. Patterson sawmill and the F. Hout General Store and was a station on the Detroit and Mackinac Railway (now the North Eastern State Trail). The name was selected by mill owner Patterson, who had made a trip to Hawaii.

The Geography
Aloha State Park is just to the south and offers camping at the center of the Inland Lakes Waterways.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 32.4 square miles, of which 29.5 square miles is land and 2.9 square miles, or 8.91%, is water.

Board of Review Meeting December 9th
The Aloha Township Board of Review will meet on December 9, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Aloha Township Hall, corner of M-33 and Mann Road, Cheboygan, Michigan, 49721. This meeting will address the correction of mutual mistakes in fact or clerical errors, and principal residence exemptions.
